The passage of AB 86 on July 1, 2013, brought changes to adult education in California. The law provided two-year planning and implementation grants to regional consortia of community college districts and school districts for the purpose of developing regional plans to better serve the educational needs of adults. The Capital Adult Education Regional Consortium's work presents an exciting opportunity for expanding the collaboration between existing adult schools based in K-12 districts and local community colleges — providing more ways for adult learners to be successful!
