Habitat for Humanity is widely known, but not everyone understands how the organization works. Many don't realize that Habitat needs to raise a significant amount of capital as cash-in-hand before beginning a build. While volunteers are plentiful, large cash donations are not. Habitat's retail location called ReStore sells new and gently used home goods to help raise funds to support the organization's work.
