If you are a veteran in San Joaquin County and haven’t connected with San Joaquin County Veterans Services, you may be missing out on a valuable resource in our community. San Joaquin County Veterans Services is able to advocate for veterans and help them navigate the Veterans Affairs system to help them get the benefits they have earned. Unfortunately, many veterans don’t connect with the department until they are in crisis. Even if they are unsure if they qualify, veterans should contact the department as soon as possible to find out what they are entitled to.

Mental Illness affects everyone. But due to stigma and shame, many don’t want to talk about it or seek the help that could improve their lives. This publication will put a face on mental illness, helping readers to gain a better understanding of what living with mental illness is like. By showing that people from all walks of life can and do lead healthy, productive lives with mental illness, it will reduce stigma and help readers seek help for themselves or their loved ones. Include descriptions and symptoms of the source’s mental illness and reach out to referring contact for background/treatment info.
